My amp won't work! 10 points best answer!?!?!?

My Marshall MG 15 amp won't work. I have an Epiphone Les Paul. I tried pressing in the cables and still no sound. I really need to practice Eruption but I don't know how to make my amp work. Should I get a new cable? I'm only 13 so I don't know this stuff.
