Who was the first funk guitarist?
I want to say Curtis Mayfield with the Impressions, and my second choice would be Jimi Hendrix (who borrowed a lot of techniques from touring with Curtis.) James Brown started his career in 1956 (I've read?) was he already playing funk with a guitar player back then? Who was the first funk guitarist?
